How It Works
A straightforward path from learning to building to owning. No hidden agenda. No fine print.
The Path
That gives you time to prepare, finish what you're doing, and make the transition thoughtfully. Jamie and I will look at each situation individually — this isn't a hard deadline, it's a target.
Join Hammond Offices
Start at $80K salary. Work full-time in Hammond operations — setting up the home office, researching opportunities, running family business operations, clerical work. Jamie and Owen decide the work based on what needs doing and your skills.
Learn & Grow
Complete foundation training. Build real skills. Earn salary increases through milestones you can point to — not by watching a clock.
Buy & Build Together
Join Owen to acquire a small local business — $500K or lower, approved by Jamie and Owen. Fix it, build it, enhance it. Learn what it takes to run something real.
Keep or Sell
Either keep the business as a revenue generator for the family, or sell it for a multiple. Then do it again. Each one teaches you something the last one didn't.
Passion Business
When your skills are sharp and you have a solid plan, Jamie and Owen help you launch your passion company. You get 25% ownership. The family office supports it.
Compensation
Three ways you earn. All of them designed to grow as you grow.
The Ground Rules
Straightforward. No hidden clauses.
Hammond family businesses come first. That's the foundation everything else is built on.
Jamie and Owen make final calls on business decisions. They built the foundation, and their judgment protects everyone.
One passion company per person, with 25% ownership. You can buy out at cost if you ever want full control.
No side businesses while working for Hammond Offices. Full focus. This isn't about control — it's about building something that actually works.
The goal isn't control. The goal is everyone in a stronger position than they'd be alone.
Not Ready?
The family office isn't going anywhere. You're not missing out. You're not losing anything. You're not at a disadvantage for waiting.
Do something else first if you need to. Travel. Go to school. Work somewhere else. When you're ready, we're here.
Your Family
What the family office looks like for each of you. Options — not obligations.
Blake & Mariah
Your entrepreneurial drive is exactly what the family office needs. The structure isn't here to limit you — it's here to multiply what you can do.
Target: August 1, 2027 — or whenever works for your situation.
Mariah
The family office is a benefit for your whole family. There are no expectations on you — school, career, whatever path you choose. Down the road, as the office grows, there may be opportunities if you want them. That's a conversation for later.
Jed & Tyler
Your people skills and sales instincts are a real asset. Those aren't soft skills — they're the skills that close deals and build relationships. The family office needs that.
Target: August 1, 2027 — or whenever works for your situation.
Tyler
No expectations. Your path is yours. School, career, whatever you want. The family office supports your family, not limits it.
London
You have time. The family office isn't going anywhere, and neither is your place in it.
Right now, focus on you. When you're ready — whenever that is — the door is open. No pressure. No timeline.
No target date for you — your pace, your timing.
When the time comes, your family will have the same opportunities everyone else does.
Training
Foundation modules everyone takes. Real skills taught by five AI guides — each with their own voice and perspective.
Welcome to Hammond Offices
Why the family office exists, what it's for, and what it asks of you. No sugarcoating.
Reading a P&L
Revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, net income. Three questions to ask any P&L. This is the language of business — learn it and you can evaluate anything.
Emotional Intelligence
Pause before responding. Ask more than you answer. Watch body language. The best deal-makers are the best listeners.
Evaluating Opportunities
Inversion thinking — start with how this fails. Identify failure modes first, survive the downside, then evaluate the upside. Every opportunity looks good in the pitch.
Decision Making
Reversible vs irreversible decisions. When to move fast, when to deliberate. Speed is a skill — but so is knowing when to slow down.
Tools & AI
AI amplifies thinking — clear thinking matters more than prompt engineering. The right tools define your ceiling. Learn to use them or compete against people who do.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you're thinking about — and probably a few things you were afraid to ask.
"Do I have to join?"
+No. The family office isn't going anywhere. You're not missing out. Your place in this family has nothing to do with whether you work here.
"When does this start?"
+The target date is August 1, 2027. That gives everyone time to prepare, wrap things up, and make the transition thoughtfully. Jamie and Owen will work with each family individually — if you need more time, that's okay. If you're ready sooner, let's talk.
"When should I join?"
+The target date is August 1, 2027. That said, Jamie and Owen will work with each family individually. If you need more time, that's okay. If you're ready sooner, let's talk. There's no "early bird" advantage and no penalty for taking your time.
"What would I actually do day-to-day?"
+Hammond operations — researching opportunities, running family business operations, helping build the home office, clerical work. Jamie and Owen decide the specifics based on what needs doing and your skills. It's real work, not busywork.
"Can I try something else first?"
+Absolutely. Travel, school, work somewhere else. Do what you need to do. The door stays open. Coming back with outside experience isn't a downside — it's an asset.
"How much will I make?"
+Starting salary is $80K. Raises are based on milestones, not time. The progression goes to $200K+ based on what you accomplish. But the real wealth comes from 10% profit sharing on businesses you help build — salary is just the foundation.
"What's the house credit?"
+Up to $500K toward your home. Vests 25% per year over 4 years. After 4 years, it's 100% yours. If you leave early, you keep what you've vested. This doesn't include your mortgage — that's separate.
"How does profit sharing work?"
+You earn 10% of the businesses you help create. Not 10% of everything — 10% of what you build. The more you grow them, the more you earn. This is where the real wealth building happens, not salary.
"What about loans for buying businesses?"
+The family office loans the capital. 4.5% interest, always. That's a real cost that factors into every deal — it's not free money. You learn to think about cost of capital from day one, which is how real business works.
"What kind of businesses will we buy?"
+Small local businesses, $500K or under unless Jamie and Owen approve more. Buy, fix, build, enhance — then keep for revenue or sell for a multiple. The goal is learning what it takes to run something real.
"Can I start my own business?"
+Yes, when the time is right. You and Jamie and Owen agree on the plan, and you get 25% ownership. The family office funds it and supports it. One passion company per person.
"What if I want to leave and take my business?"
+You can buy out at cost — not market value. We don't want to hold anyone back. If you outgrow the family office, that's a good thing.
"Can my spouse and I start a business together?"
+Your spouse can absolutely run their own business. The only rule is that while you're working for Hammond Offices, your focus stays here — you can't split your time working in your spouse's venture. Your spouse is free to build whatever they want.
"What about my spouse?"
+The family office is a benefit for your whole family. There are no work expectations for spouses. School, career, whatever they want. As the office matures, there may be opportunities if they're interested — but that's a future conversation, and it'll work for everyone involved.
"Is this fair to everyone?"
+The structure is the same for everyone. Same starting salary, same milestones, same opportunities. What you make of it depends on you.
"What if I don't want to do this at all?"
+That's completely fine. You're always part of the family. The office supports everyone regardless of whether you work in it.
"Who makes the decisions?"
+Jamie and Owen. They built the foundation. The goal isn't control — it's making sure everyone ends up stronger. As the office grows and everyone proves themselves, that may evolve.
"Is there a philanthropy component?"
+Yes. Jamie leads this. The details are still being shaped, but giving back is part of who we are as a family — not separate from the family office.
